Ok lets face facts you think you are the best driver in the world rite? You think you can drive like Mario Andretti, or you thing that the crappy 1990 Ford Fiesta you drive is a sports car…
Well I hate to say it people, you are incorrect. All of you are not the best drivers, even me( and I think I am a good driver) but the problem isn’t us as the drivers so much as the technology given to us. See we are easy people that love fancy, shinny things. And for some reason we feel the need to play with these things while we operate a vehicle. Why I don’t know.
Just for a statistic, a little fun fact, there were 5.5 million accidents in 2009. Now you are all probably saying that is a lot of accidents, and yes it is! And I hate to say it that most of them were probably from speeding, another part were probably from not paying attention, and trying to multi-task! That means playing on cell phones, or with your touch screen monitors in your cars, or with GPS <– thats a big one!
Now here comes the interesting part… How to not fail at driving. First off don’t multi-tasking, trying to shave or put on make-up while driving what happens if you hit a bump you will have a botched makeup job, do you really want to show up to work or a date when looking like this! Also Please Pay attention.. Yes that means you person that is probably reading this while your driving..put the phone down and finish when your at home.
In that same topic please read the signs that are posted. I love being in traffic with someone that turns where there aren’t suppose to, or not using a turn signal. And I know I do it too, but a stop sign does mean stop..Unfortunately. This next one goes for a lot of kids that like to drive like they think they know it all, I have been around quite a few where I used to hang out, and let me tell you some of the kids up there should have never gotten their license. Or when given their first car they should not be allowed to touch anything. Leave it stock. I think that is one of the biggest FAILS. I mean it was a family car now it looks like a pink toaster. You should also just for sh*ts and giggles you should log into you DOT driving website and take the sample driving test if one is available ( to see how you do) I know a lot of you forget everything that you read in that book when you are 16 and studying for your drivers test.
So please don’t be a tool follow the rules. Or try to, or if worse comes to worst you can car pool with a better driver(if there are just as bad as you then it kind of defeats the purpose) or better yet take the bus! Those guys are a lot better drivers then you!
